Crime : Taking syabu at Kg. Warisan, Inanam and Kota Kinabalu



KOTA KINABALU: Six local men and a local woman were sentenced to three months’ jail each and placed under police supervision for two years by the Magistrate’s Court for taking syabu.

Mohd Salleh Mohd Hassan, 29, Ardiey Abdul Fattah, 28, Osman Lakuasa, 35 and Noridah Ramin, 28, were tested positive for syabu at the Kota Kinabalu Police Headquarters on Feb 13, while Christoper Ku Su Ngen, 38, on Feb 10.

Other accused, Zahirul Amin, 31 and Fatdlie Erlangga, 26, admitted before Magistrate Cindy Mc Juce Balitus to committing the offence respectively at Kg Warisan, Inanam and Kota Kinabalu on Feb 10.

Cindy also sentenced a Filipino and two Filipinas to three months’ jail for the same offence.

Azhar Muin, 29, and Fatimah Kassim, 42, were tested positive for the substance at the city police headquarters on Feb 10 and Feb 13 respectively, while, Siti Fauzianah Kinting, 26, was tested positive for the drug on Feb 11.

The court also ordered the three foreigners to be referred to the Immigration Department for deportation after completing the jail term.

All of them committed an offence framed under Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a jail term of up to two years, a fine of up to RM5,000 or both on conviction.
