A resident from Kampung Goshen, Kota Marudu has alleged that his brother-in-law’s land has been used as a dumping site by a company that tasked to collect wastes from the nearby construction.
“Company lorries simply dumped the wastes on my in-law’s land without his permission,” the complainant said.
He was further angered when told by the lorry drivers that they had been instructed not only by their employer that a government department had allowed it.
“When we confronted the drivers for an explanation they told us that they were ordered by their employer to dump construction wastes on my brother in-law’s land. They also told us that they were just doing their job. And they claimed they were allowed by a government department to do the dumping,” added the complainant.
He urged the authorities to look into the matter.
A spokesman from the Kota Marudu District Office when contacted by ActionLine urged the complainant to come forward to give more details regarding the complaint.
